Quitting your diet doesn’t mean you’re giving up on your health.
Reality check: do you remember what life was like before diets and calorie counting took over your life? Before your healthy diet became an unhealthy obsession?
At best, it’s a fuzzy memory. But odds are you’re not sure if you ever had a normal relationship with food and your body.
If you’ve tried every diet, detox, and calorie app – and you’re still unhappy in your body – it might be time to take an honest look at what’s going on.
Maybe the food isn’t the problem and maybe a diet isn’t the solution.
I won’t sugarcoat this: quitting dieting is hard.
First, we’re up against everyone we know (even Oprah!) telling us that we really need to stick with our diets. Our own inner critics then kick in, trying to call us out for being lazy or not good enough. Before you know it, you’re swept away in a sea of shame and looking for the next new diet.
But leaving the diet life behind is so worth it. Just imagine how free you would feel if you…
- Stopped comparing yourself to others
- Moved your body in a way that feels good (even if it doesn’t burn the most calories)
- Never wasted another minute debating “Carbs vs Fat: Which One is Ruining My Life?”
- Bought new clothes that fit your Today body (with no concern for Last Year’s or Next Year’s bodies)
Because this is about more than eating what you want. This is a life without fear, guilt, or shame. A rich life where your worth isn’t tied to your dress size and where you treat your body with kindness instead of hatred.
I didn’t think it was possible. I thought my entire life would fall apart if I packed up my food scale, diet books, and calorie apps. And I let dieting control my life and eat away at my self-worth for far too long.
I encourage you to make a bold decision. To reject the diet ads, photoshopped models, and (most importantly) your mean-girl inner critic. And if you need any support along the way, I’m here to guide you.
